Xiaomi began distributing the MIUI 9.5 update for some smartphones and published the entire list of models that should be updated.

MIUI 9 employs more than 40 devices of the company, and for some of them this version of the shell was the last. After the release of MIUI 9.5, the oldest smartphones left the list of compatible devices, including Xiaomi Mi 2 and state budget Redmi second generation. The renewal process has already begun and will take place in three stages.
At the end of March, MIUI 9.5 will receive Xiaomi Mi Max, all versions of Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4 (on MediaTek and Snapdragon), Redmi 3S, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 Prime.
The next wave will start in early April, the update will be released for Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2, Redmi 4X, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 5A / Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Note 5A Prime / Redmi Y1, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus / Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The latest in the end of April to MIUI 9.5 will be updated Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi Note 3, Mi Note 2, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 3, Redmi 4.
In most cases, MIUI 9.5 will be based on the Android 7 Nougat, models older than a few years may use Marshmallow. Meanwhile, the newer Mi 6 has already moved to Oreo .
As for the shell itself, the new version brought mostly bug fixes and minor changes. A bit improved the function of responding to messages directly from the notification panel, a section with selected photos appeared in the gallery, and the mode of the Wi-Fi access point will now automatically turn off when the specified data limit is reached.
